Radio Fragments - Long Play Extravaganza #4
by Jeff on Apr.14, 2011,under Weekly Show
It's about that time again! I haven't done one since last September, but I'm back with another Long Play Extravaganza! 2 hours, 6 songs. Just 6, that's it.
4 of them are pieces that occupy an entire side of a vinyl LP, and 5 of them are live performances...and they're all uniformly wonderful. We've got 'the greatest piece of live rock ever committed to vinyl', Pink Floyd kicking it live and spacy, The Dears from Canada with 15 minutes of thrashing and 5 minutes of crooning, a crazy german electronic musician touring Poland, Jon Anderson from Yes and Vangelis with the beautiful 22 minute 'Horizon', and a piece from maybe the best jazz record ever.
How's that for a show?
