Radio Fragments - Themes, I've Had a Few...

by Jeff on Nov.10, 2010,under Weekly Show

Thanks to everyone who commented on last week's "decades"-themed show. It's always fun to have something to base my song selection around. This week isn't quite as coherent, I've got a few different themes going on.

There's the set of music performed by science fiction actors, that's always a lot of fun; there's a set looking at the first three single released on the ever-so-influential Mute label in the late 70s, mmmm new wavey. There's a set of great fuzzy psychedelic from the last 40 years and from around the world. And, finally, I've got the first song from Brian Eno's first album, and the last song from his most recent album, looking at the bookends of his career (so far).

Oh, and then all the other stuff, like some great new music by The Orb & David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) which is just outstanding. And that's just one little 2 hour show. Tune in and enjoy.

The show is available from the streaming archive, or you can download the podcast/mp3 version by hour (below).
